There’s an aspect of the impact of the internet on fashion, that I haven’t seen written about until recently. That is how it’s lowering the prices of what have been considered the more exclusive clothing and making it more available to a greater proportion of the market. There’s a post at www.discoex.com that talks about wholesale fashion clothing and how it’s available in bulk over the net. Although it mentions the slashed-down prices may be a result of the stock being seconds ( with some small defects ) I’ve noticed far cheaper prices for perfect items as well. The costs of promoting and selling online are so far below those of maintaining physical outlets and conventional marketing campaigns, they more than offset the discounts.
