I visit a number of new clients each year. When I first started meeting with clients I used to dress up in a suit & tie, but time and time again I found that I was way over-dressed. I would turn up for the meeting to find the general manager or head of the company wearing cargo pants or jeans and a casual shirt. Maybe it’s different in Australia, but unless you’re meeting with a businessman in the CBD this always seems to be the case. The dress code has changed.
From a display point-of-view this should be taken into account, as many business men don’t see themselves as suit-types. There’s a bit more written about this on our page about shop mannequins. I started thinking about this after reading this article about Business Dress Sense.
