Different Styles of Jewellery Mannequins
There are heaps of different jewellery mannequins available, and you’re not obliged to used the traditional cloth or painted styles. Fabric covered mannequins have been the traditional style, providing a neutral background that doesn’t detract from the jewellery. But a more modern white or black gloss paint finish can be ideal for providing a contrast between the jewellery and the mannequin. Mannequins can also be finished in chrome or gold plating – what you use really comes down to a bit of market research and testing ( more about that in the pages about shop mannequins and display mannequins ).
Display hands with part of the forearm let you display rings as well as bracelets and watches all at the same time. They can be used singly, or a number of hands together, and you can get hands that are in a whole variaty of positions ( straight up, leaning forward or backwards or lying down ) that can make an interesting display.
Heads & Busts
Heads with part bust need a larger display cabinet that the hands and forearms, but they have the advantage of demonstrating how the jewellery looks on a real person.
Miniature Mannequins ?
There are also miniature mannequins that fit into a glass cabinet. They don’t give a good idea of how the jewellery sits on a real person, but they can be attention catching. Often they’re abstract with arms and legs wide-apart, so that the necklaces, bracelets and watches can be easily hung.
